ASRM Today: Complex Family Planning with Dr. Sarah Horvath and Dr. Aaron Lazorwitz

ASRM Today Podcast - En podcast af American Society for Reproductive Medicine, ASRM - Torsdage

In this episode, we talk to Dr. Aaron Lazorwitz and Dr. Sarah Horvath, chairs of the ASRM Complex Family Planning Special Interest Group, about complex family planning. They discuss the potential consequences for infertility in medical education if Roe v. Wade is overturned, the impact on providers and patients, and the potential effect on contraceptive technologies. Dr. Horvath explains that if Roe v. Wade is overturned, about 13 states will ban or nearly ban abortion within days to weeks, and that about half of states will lose access to abortion care by the end of 2022. The guests also discuss how residents who do not have routine abortion care training are less competent and less likely to intend to provide the full scope of not just abortion care, but also early pregnancy loss care. The potential effect of these laws on contraceptive technologies is also discussed.  CFPSIG website: Complex Family Planning Special Interest Group (CFPSIG) | ASRM More information on these topics is at www.asrm.org Tell us your thoughts on the show by e-mailing [email protected] Please subscribe and rate the show on Apple Podcasts, Google Play or wherever you get your podcasts.
