Horrifically diseased, ostracized from society, and facing a medical death sentence, a leper approaches Jesus in Matthew 8:1-4 and asks to be made clean. As we watch Jesus heal this man, we find that we can relate to his condition as an analogy for the sin that sickens, isolates, and ultimately destroys us. But just as he did the leper, Jesus wants to cleanse us as well.
