Welcome to the first episode of the Beyond The Mirror podcast (formerly Next Step Espresso). Today I'm joined by Calum Stronach, a Nutritionist & Eating Disorder Specialist. Calum has a history of ED, mental illness, and even a suicide attempt. He has also done a lot of physical pursuits (24 hours of burpees, rowing for 24 hours, ironman etc). We speak about pursuing physical challenges as a means of running from yourself versus a place of love. We also talk about contributing factors that lead to eating disorders. The main models he uses are therapeutic models of Transactional analysis and Internal family systems, amongst a few other contributing ones. This is a powerful and insightful conversation.
