Bside Incoming: Dar Disku This weeks episode brings a return to our ‘Bside Incoming’ series, the worldwide mixtape series that brings you the best of the Bside from the record collections of our favourite selectors. We’re very excited about this one, our guests name literally translates from the Arabic for ‘The Home of Disco’, and its truly an impressive hour of feel good music from the Arab world and beyond: Dar Disku. World selectors Vish and Mazen grew up in close proximity on the island of Bahrain. Currently based in Bristol the pair have brought the sunshine of their eastern influences with them to radio airwaves and dance floors across the UK. Their ever increasing prestige as purveyors of global sounds has allowed them to share turntables with Habibi Funk, Esa, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Worldwide Fm, and one of our past guests Nabihah Iqbal as part of her outstanding BBC Radio residency. Their Label is also gaining status, with their most recent release has been played out by the likes of Palms Trax, Hunee, and DJ Seinfeld.
