Bside Incoming: Ruben Spa Reflecting on Episode 100 with the incredible Detroit In Effect, we just wanted to thank all the people that tune into Bside Podcasts, to everyone who reaches out to us with positive feedback, and of course to all the fabulous guests who take the time to share with us their life’s work of collecting, curating, and sharing all the beautiful music in the world. Without wanting to sit back and admire this landmark, we move on from number 100 with an international superstar to Episode 101 with someone very close to our heart and an integral member of the Bside team: Ruben Spa With a big love of music, his graphic design skills, and some social media wizardry, his creativity and passion continues to drive the project forward. Ruben Spa continues to build upon his invaluable knowledge of the industry with his involvement at the Surefire agency. He also runs the Koselig event series in Edinburgh, who booked Hidden Spheres for an evening of mid-week madness at Sneaky Pete’s, before which we recorded an incredible live episode of the podcast. It was actually his co-founder of Koselig, James Cook, who recorded the very first episode for the Bside podcast. Over 2 years have passed since then, and the platform has grown substantially: 99 other guests and more than 60,000 listens from all over the world, and lots more in the works. So, it felt only right that our beloved Ruben Spa, should welcome us into the second century of Bside. Expect jazzy keys, horns, and chord progressions over house, hip-hop and broken beats, moving through beautifully layered techno and IDM Here’s to many more!
