Bside Incoming: Unidentified Flying Music This week welcomes Yoav Sa’ar, a band member of Garden City Movement, resident DJ at Tel Aviv’s Romano, and father of an amazing youtube channel that goes by his own name: Unidentified Flying Music. He is a man after our own heart, having made it his vocation to bring to light a huge array of unknown music from across the world. There’s many instant classics in this episode and clearly a wide range of influences. Primarily inspired by his upbringing in the middle east, but beyond that his digging through record shops from far and wide on his touring travels. He’s shared turntables with some outstanding artists: Antal, Tornado Wallace, Orpheu The Wizard, Jamie Tiller, Young Marco, Lefto, and Raphael Top Secret… oooooft. And featured on the world’s best digital radio stations, The Lot, Le Mellotron, Red Light, Balamii, and of course support of a more local project with Teder FM. But this week Unidentified Flying Music will step up to the Bside decks with nothing less than the very best from the flip side of his phenomenal vinyl collection. Expect many different sounds and styles but with distinct downtempo mood throughout, electro, jazz, reggae, and world music with his signature of smooth bopping beats… and the italo song about Mozarella that we never knew we needed, but we do.
