Comes A Time - En podcast af Comes a Time - Tirsdage
This week on Comes A Time Mike and Oteil are joined by DJ Logic! You’ll hear the guys discuss DJ Logic’s formative musical influences that he listened to while growing up in The Bronx, the improvisational spirit of his music, and linking up with Medeski, Martin, and Wood at CBGB. You’ll also hear them discuss meditation and finding your ideal mental space, how all the different flavors of NYC music inspire DJ Logic, spinning records on vinyl vs. digitally, and why he feels like he comes from outer space. DJ Logic is one of the world’s most accomplished turntablists. He is widely credited for introducing jazz into the realms of hip–hop, and is considered by most as a highly-respected session musician and an innovative bandleader. Since his emergence in the early nineties amidst the Bronx hip-hop scene, the New York City based deejay has amassed a veritable mountain of collaborations, including a full-fledged band with members of Blues Traveler (The John Popper Project ft. DJ Logic), a trio with Steve Molitz & Freekbass (Headtronics), and collaborations with artists ranging from the likes of Bob Weir, John Mayer, Medeski Martin and Wood, Carly Simon, Jack Johnson, Vernon Reid, Mos Def, and many more. While the context of his work may vary, DJ Logic’s spinning skills are certifiably beyond reproach. ----------- *DISCLAIMER: This podcast does NOT provide medical advice.
