In this episode we look at how we can talk about music. It's always a good idea to know some different music categories so that you can have an easy conversation with people about music. I'll also give you some conversation starters and questions to keep the conversation going. This is a great conversation topic for parties, dates, business outings and other situations where you're having casual 'get to know you' conversation. I did a Google search for 'musical categories' and got the figures I mentioned in the episode of 41 primary genres and 337 subcategories of music. You can find the full article here: https://audiophilereview.com/audiophile/how-many-music-genres-do-we-need/ During the episode I gave you some ideas for good conversation starting questions and some examples of how conversations might go. Questions What's your favorite kind of music? What are you listening to right now? Conversation 1 'What are you listening to right now?' 'Oh, my favorite podcast at the moment is...' 'Oh what's that about?' Conversation 2 'What are you listening to right now?' 'Oh, I've never heard of that kind of music before'. 'Can you tell me some famous bands who play that kind of music?' 'What's the history of this kind of music?' 'Where does kind of music originate from?' Follow on Questions For Another Day 'Did you listen to the last podcast?' 'Have you been to the concert?' 'Did you know that that band was coming into town?'
