This week we're getting ready for the new year. This is the first in a series of episodes, going out on Wednesdays that will walk you through the process of finishing this year and getting ready for next year. First we want to establish where you are in your English journey. Once we know where you are, then you can decide where you want to go. It also helps you understand how long it can take to improve and measure the successes you have made. If you haven't tested your English before, just log the result so you have a baseline to measure from next year. If you did test your English last year then this new result will help you identify where you have improved. Remember, these results are just a measurement, not a judgement. It is hard for any test to accurately measure the progress you have made, especially since many of you are following your own learning plans, which might be different to official course run by organisations like The British Council or Cambridge English. English Tests I don't advocate any one of these tests over the other. These are just a selection of tests I found online. If you can, do something for free. https://www.cambridgeenglish.org/test-your-english/ https://test-english.com/ https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/english-levels/online-english-level-test https://www.efset.org/ https://preply.com/en/language-tests/english Vocabulary Baseline - A point of reference used for comparison don't worry if it turns out that way - turns out, phrasal verb - the end results or outcomes of something.
