Xiaomi showcased its humanoid robot prototype, called CyberOne, at an event yesterday, ahead of Tesla’s AI day. CyberOne is 5.8 feet tall, weighs 52kg, and is nicknamed “Metal Bro.” It has also been given a zodiac sign, Leo. In a video shared by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, on Twitter, one can see the robot walk up to him onstage, introduce itself, offer him a flower, and strike a kung fu pose. In a video shared by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, one can see the robot walk up to him onstage, introduce itself, offer him a flower, and strike a kung fu pose. Jun then proceeds to take a selfie with the robot before it walks off the stage saying it wants to check out more kung fu. CyberOne, the second product from Xiaomi Robotics Lab, after the CyberDog from August 2021, has an OLED curved face, 3D vision, and two microphones. It can identify 45 types of emotions from a human voice, according to Engadget. Tesla’s AI Day is likely to be held on Sep. 30. The 3rd edition of Climate Startup Week, organised by the Climate Collective Foundation, is planned for Sep 10 – 23, bringing together the fast-growing community of changemakers trying to fight climate change through innovation and entrepreneurship, the foundation said in a release. Last year’s event drew about 900 participants. The upcoming edition includes more than 45 online and offline events, presented with more than 15 ecosystem partners, including global development agencies, corporate innovation networks, climate tech VCs and so on. Climate Collective Foundation is an India-based non-profit organisation, focused on helping entrepreneurs addressing climate change and circular economy throughout the Global South. It was founded in 2016 by clean energy entrepreneurs Pratap Raju and Pramod Raju. Founded by Sudhir Nunes, who has significant experience in executing renewable power projects, Levanta has 300MW of onshore wind power projects in advanced development. With Vietnam as the anchor market, Actis will build on Levanta’s pipeline to expand the business into a 1.5GW renewable energy platform in Southeast Asia, according to the release. The acquisition is Actis’s first energy infrastructure investment in Vietnam. It didn’t give financial details on the deal but added that the transaction will be funded via its $6 billion Energy 5 Fund. The UK company also recently purchased the solar assets of Kolkata’s Atha Group, according to a report earlier this week by Mint.
