Ep. 16 - Bachelor Bygones

I couldn’t be more excited to share this episode with you. I’m joined by the lovely Kirsten (Buschbacher) Aires, who was the runner-up on my season of The Bachelor. At the time, the two of us were portrayed as polar opposites; she, the hot, vixen-type who didn’t play well with the other women, while I was billed as the nice, motherly (aka plain) girl-next-door. As we all know, appearances aren’t always what they seem. Close to 20 years has passed, and who you are in your 20’s is not who you become in your 40’s. The two of us catch up like long-lost friends, and I know you’ll love hearing about her experiences after The Bachelor as much as I did!

Om Podcasten

Have you been a Bachelor and Bachelorette fan since the beginning? If so, you might remember me, Jen Schefft, one of the show’s original stars. I “won” the proposal from The Bachelor Andrew Firestone on season 3 of the infamous ABC television series, that relationship ultimately ended, but I was given another chance at finding love as The Bachelorette - and I was the first Bachelor or Bachelorette star in the show’s history not to make a match! The backlash I experienced led to me writing a book, Better Single Than Sorry: A No-Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling. After leaving the limelight, I DID find love, and married Joe Waterman, who I met on a blind date. We left Chicago after close to 20 years, and settled into an adorable little Ohio suburb outside of Cleveland with our two daughters, Mae and Charlotte. From The Bachelor To The Burbs chronicles my life as it is now - a relatable 44-year-old suburban wife and mother of 2, dealing with all the joys and struggles that come life’s way. From chatting about the Bachelor and my incredible experiences on the show to commiserating about the highs and lows that come with marriage, parenting, working, health, beauty and aging - you won’t want to miss it! Will you accept this rose, and join me on this journey?
