EPISODE 169. If you've ever wanted to know where to go in Italy, let alone, where to go when you're in Puglia, you've come to the right place. Sabino sits down with Gianvito via Zoom to talk all about it as well as his current project. For More from Gianvito - https://instagram.com/gianvitofanelli?utm_medium=copy_link Gianvito’s Project “Vita Lenta” - https://instagram.com/vita________lenta?utm_medium=copy_link 1) Caffè dell’Incontro in Conversano is a bar and gelato shop with a history of 40 years. Here, Franco prepares the gelato as it once was. Try the “Coppa Incontro” or hazelnut, Bacio and double cream cone. 2)Bari 3)Peschici is a fishermen town on the Gargano peninsula. It’s a land of “trabucchi”, old wooden machines used by the fishermen to catch lot of fishes from the mainland. Go to the “Trabucco da Mimì” restaurant if you want to see a functioning trabucco. 4) Bombette are typical meat bombs made of capocollo and caciocavallo cheese. They’re cooked in the fornello, literally “little oven”, a traditional oven in which meat is grilled indirectly. That makes it even more golden and softer. The place to be to try fornello is Cisternino in the Itria Valley. 5)Taranto, unluckily best known for the ILVA steel factory, has one of the best old towns in Puglia. Called the “City of the Two Seas”, it is one of my favorite places in Puglia. Here you should try the puccia con gli uccelletti and the local mussels.
