The Danish Energy Islands

In order to raise the share of electricity generated by wind further and to kick-start the production of green hydrogen, the Danish government has announced the construction of two energy islands. A part of the produced energy is set to be exported to Germany as well. Against this background, Reiner Perau discussed what the plans for the energy islands are with Torben Franch, Chief Commercial Manager of the energy islands on behalf of Energinet - Denmark’s public authority in charge of the electricity and gas net. What is the business case for the energy islands? And what potential lies in the Power-to-X technology in a German-Danish context?
