The idea that the dead can remain earthbound started in the most ancient times, and has appeared in countless tales since then. It has spawned its own folklore genre - ghost stories. People believing in ghosts is actually part of a larger belief system, which gives people comfort. After all, who wouldn’t want to believe that loved ones who are gone are watching after us, and help us in our times of need.But with the good, comes the bad. Not all ghosts are good and pure. Some are malevolent, and want to harm. It is the believe in these types of spirits that make us look under the bed at night, or jump when the floor creaks. It is these stories that we tell around campfires, or to scare ourselves.
