Holly Baxter on transforming the relationship with her body

Hurt to Healing: Mental Health & Wellbeing - En podcast af Pandora Morris

I’m very excited to be joined today by Holly Baxter, a dietician, science educator, author, speaker and professional athlete in the sport of bodybuilding. Growing up in Tasmania, Holly had a heavy involvement in sports in her early life. However, when she began competing more seriously the emphasis on her performance and appearance set her up for an extremely difficult struggle with binge eating and bulimia which left her wondering whether she had any intrinsic value as a person. Like so many of us who have suffered with an eating disorder, she found the only thing that she could control in her life was what she ate. In this episode, Holly and I talk very candidly about the tricks the mind can play on you when you’re struggling with an eating disorder and how she got to a place where she was then able to ask for help. Holly now works with women in the body building space to create healthy relationships with food and to break down the barriers for how “women should look”. Find Holly: Website: https://hbnutrition.com.au/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hollytbaxter/?hl=enFollow Hurt to Healing on Instagram: @hurttohealingpod--A big thank you our wonderful charity partner Shout.
