Lisa Bryer on her addiction to heroin and the moment she asked for help

Hurt to Healing: Mental Health & Wellbeing - En podcast af Pandora Morris

On today’s episode, I am joined by Lisa Bryer, a film and documentary producer who is best known for producing the epic box office success, The Last King of Scotland, which won an Oscar and many BAFTA awards. Considering her phenomenal success you might wonder why Lisa is here today but as you will soon discover, she battled with an addiction to drugs including heroin for eight years. After a friend recommended that she attend Narcotic Anonymous, she realised that she could break the cycle of drug use and she eventually managed to overcome her addiction. Today Lisa is still sober and spends a lot of her time helping other addicts. I’m so in awe of her recovery and I’m sure her story will inspire so many others.Find Lisa: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisabryer1/?hl=enThe London Screen Academy: https://lsa.ac.uk/foundersFollow Hurt to Healing on Instagram: @hurttohealingpod--A big thank you our wonderful charity partner Shout.
