Shaun Flores on why we need to destigmatise OCD

Hurt to Healing: Mental Health & Wellbeing - En podcast af Pandora Morris

I am so thrilled to be joined today by a man on a mission to raise awareness of the reality of OCD, Shaun Flores. When people talk about OCD, they often talk about it as a quirk or something almost productive, but anyone who lives with OCD knows this couldn’t be further from the truth. Shaun Flores has suffered from OCD since he was 27. He initially struggled with obsessive thoughts about his sexuality and it quickly moved on to harm, in particular sexual assault. When these thoughts initially took hold, Shaun became depressed and life became a burden he no longer wanted to carry. In today’s episode, Shaun shares his story and talks about why there is an urgent need to develop new and better treatments for OCD - something which is also a big passion of mine. I hope for anyone listening who is living with OCD, that Shaun’s story will reassure you that you can in fact emerge stronger and better.Find more information on Shaun: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theshaunflores/?hl=enFollow Hurt to Healing on Instagram: @hurttohealingpod--A big thank you our wonderful charity partner Shout.
