SCM Sparks #105: SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Both strengths and weaknesses are about the capabilities of my supply chain. Strength is something that is helping my supply chain to succeed and I should preserve and improve it further. Weaknesses are those capabilities that are acting as bottlenecks. For an e-commerce company, sourcing may be their strength and last mile connectivity could be its weakness. On the other hand, opportunities are things that need to be capitalised and threats are those that may jeopardise the company's operations. The growing internet penetration in Indian economy is an opportunity for this e-commerce company, while the growing government regulation on e-commerce businesses could be a threat. Are you ready to do SWOT for your supply chain? For more details related to Supply Chain Consulting, Certifications (CSCP, CPIM and CLTD) and Executive Development Programs, please visit www.IISCM.org.
