Today we feature Chloe Nam, a flute student of Hideko Amano and a finalist in the most recent Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition. We hear her competition performance once again before a recital of CPE Bach, Mozart, Rocherolle and Chaminade with pianist Kay Kim. Chloe Nam is a junior at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago. Under the expert guidance of Hideko Amano, Chloe has developed a deep passion for flute performance. Chloe recently performed at Symphony Center as a soloist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, as a finalist in the 2024 Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition, and that performance was broadcast on Introductions in April. Since 8th grade, Chloe has been a member of Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, where she currently plays flute and piccolo in the flagship Symphony Orchestra. She has also been recognized in various music competitions such as the Chicago Flute Club Student Competition, the Music International Grand Prix, the DePaul National Concerto Festival, and the Walgreens Concerto Competition. Chloe has also taken masterclasses with Aleksandr Haskin, Jennifer Gunn, Nancy Stagnitta, and Jonathan Keeble.
