Welcome to episode 2157 of the Italian Wine Podcast, and episode 165 of Wine, Food & Travel with Marc Millon. Marc’s guest today is Luigi Di Majo Norante of Di Majo Norante winery in the Molise region of southern Italy.  More about today’s guest:   Luigi Di Majo Norante is the Sales Manager for Di Majo Norante Wines. After completing his studies in Canada and Belgium, he honed his expertise in winemaking through valuable experience at the Famiglia Cotarella Estate. Passionate about wine culture, Luigi is committed to making wine more approachable for younger generations, bridging tradition with modern tastes. His goal is to inspire a deeper appreciation for wine, encouraging new consumers to explore its rich heritage while promoting responsible and enjoyable consumption. Di Majo Norante is a pioneering winery located on the scenic coast of Molise, a region often described as Italy’s best-kept secret. While Molise may be one of the country’s lesser-known areas, Di Majo Norante has put it on the map for wine lovers across the world. Founded with a commitment to preserving the region’s rich viticultural heritage, the estate has been producing high-quality wines for over five generations, making it the first winery in Molise and one of the first in southern Italy to focus on qualitative wine production. One of the winery’s key guiding principles is sustainability, not only in the vineyards but in every stage of production. Since the early 1970s, Di Majo Norante has committed itself to organic farming practices, long before it became a widespread trend. Their methods respect the natural balance of the ecosystem, using no synthetic chemicals or pesticides, and nurturing the land for future generations.  The winery's portfolio includes a wide range of wines, from elegant reds to fresh whites and sparkling varieties, each one made with precision and care. Their flagship wines, such as the rich and robust Sassius and the elegant Don Luigi Riserva, have garnered international recognition and awards, showcasing Molise’s potential as a world-class wine-producing region.  Connect Website: https://www.dimajonorante.com/en  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dimajonorante  More about the host Marc Millon: Marc Millon, VIA Italian Wine Ambassador 2021, has been travelling, eating, drinking, learning and writing about wine, food and travel for nearly 40 years.
