The monastery was founded in 1142 and since then they have been producing wine. Abbazia di Novacella is still an active monastery as well and the combination of these two facts makes it quite unique. The winery is located in Valle Isarco, one of the northernmost wine regions in Italy. The wines are characterized by their origin: fresh, fruity with a crispy acidity.
