Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is remembered as an activist, a prominent leader in the civil rights movement, a pioneering historical figure and a wordsmith. The 1964 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Martin Luther King Jr. for his non-violent campaign against racism.
