Episode 3 - What is Love?

“Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.” ― Plato WHAT IS LOVE?  Everyone talks about love - every magazine and newspaper and every preacher is constantly preaching about love. I love my country, I love the king, I love a book, I love nature, I love pleasure, I love my wife, I love God.  Is love an idea? If it is, then it can be cultivated, nurtured, surrounded by affection, imposed, changed at will. We love someone, we sleep with someone, the exchange of feelings, companionship - is that what we call love? Can love be divided into the sacred and the corrupt, the divine and the human, or is there simply only one love? Is love one thing and not many things? Is love personal or impersonal? Ethical or immoral? If you love humanity, do you love each one individually? Is love an emotion? Is love a feeling? Is love pleasure and desire?  All these questions show that we have created a perception of what love is, norms about what love should be and what should not be, a social code that dictates us how to love and when to love.  Should love be limited to human perception?
