This story is adapted from a legend of Dragon Boat Festival in Chinese Mandarin. This is an introduction to history and legend of Dragon Boat Festival and Qu Yuan, which has a long history of more than 2000 years. Script  端午节的故事  Adapted by Xuemei Li       每年的农历五月初五是中国的端午节。端午节是中国人最重要的传统节日之一。在这一天,人们不仅会吃美味的粽子,而且还会看精彩的龙舟比赛。端午节的庆祝活动有趣极了。相传,庆祝端午节是从很久很久以前的战国时期开始的。很久很久以前的战国时期有很多的国家。其中有一个国家叫楚国。楚国有一个大臣。这个大臣的名字叫屈原。屈原不仅聪明能干,而且他很热爱自己的国家。因此,楚国的人民都很喜欢屈原。可是,一些大臣却不这么认为。他们联合起来要把屈原赶走。他们总是在楚国国君的面前说屈原的坏话。渐渐地,楚国的国君相信了那些大臣的话。屈原被楚国的国君赶到了很遥远的地方。由于不接受屈原的建议,没过多久,楚国就被其他国家打败了。楚国灭亡了。屈原听到楚国灭亡的消息以后,他感到非常的悲痛。他伤心得哭了起来。在农历五月初五的那一天,屈原来到汨罗(mì luó )江边。屈原悲痛地跳进了汨罗江里自杀了。一会儿,屈原就消失不见了。屈原的仆人听说屈原跳江了,他感到非常的悲痛。屈原的仆人赶紧沿着江边寻找屈原的尸体。于是他着急得哇哇大哭起来。附近的村民们听到了仆人的声音。村民们都划船赶了过来。他们决定帮助仆人一起寻找屈原的尸体。于是他们划起小船跟仆人一起在江中寻找屈原的尸体。可是他们找了好久都没有找到他们敬爱的屈原的尸体。有一个村民说:”虽然我们现在找不到屈原先生,但是我们可以给他一些食物,这样他就不会饿肚子了。”于是,他们把饭团都扔进了汨罗江里。他们希望他们敬爱的屈原先生可以吃到这些饭团。可是,饭团刚扔进汨罗江里就立刻被鱼和虾吃掉了。村民说:”这可怎么办呢?饭团都被鱼虾吃掉了。屈原先生吃不到啊。”有一个村民建议:”我们可以用粽叶把饭团包起来。然后再扔进江里。这样饭团就不会被鱼虾吃掉了。”于是,后来人们都用粽叶把饭团包起来。被粽叶包起来的饭团就成了粽子。吃粽子也成为了端午节的一个重要的传统。由于村民们划着小船去汨罗江寻找屈原,从那以后,划龙舟比赛也成为了端午节的一个传统。在中国有的地方,人们在门上挂艾草以及小孩子们在身上挂蛋也是重要的端午节的传统。 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/learnmandarinwithlilaoshi/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/learnmandarinwithlilaoshi/support
