This podcast begins with the release of the U.N. report on biodiversity that warns of the impending extinction of a million species of plants and animals in the near future.  Michael Meade points out that the shocking report comes amidst a new series of school shootings and terrorist acts that highlight the concurrent sense of a devaluation of human life as well. The situation is increasingly dire, yet as Meade says, "there is always time for and need for a story." An old African teaching tale helps reveal how when the trouble gets great, the real safety is found precisely where the world roars at us and calls for us to enter the fray on the side of life and creation ongoing.
