Episode 138 - In a Time of Ashes

Living Myth - En podcast af Michael Meade - Onsdage

In the agonizing climate of the burning of the Amazon rainforest, Michael Meade resurrects an ancient myth from a small tribe along the Amazon River.  The tale of “Icanchu's Drum” describes a cosmic fire that reduces the entire earth into cinders only to have nature become revitalized from a single green tendril that grows from the charcoal remainder of a once grand tree.

As Meade reminds us, there are critical times when myth and fact come together and a deeper understanding of the interconnections of life becomes essential in order for us to avoid the complete deforestation and senseless degradation of life on Earth.
