“He is our peace. We have peace WITH God and we can have the peace OF God as we go through our ups and downs and struggles in life.” Today we continue in our series, Beatitudes: Building Godly Character in the Woman of God, by welcoming Moms in Prayer Board Member, Janet Combs. We dive into the seventh beatitude, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Janet reminds us of the peace we can find in our Savior despite the circumstances we are walking through. And also how we can be peacemakers in a world filled with turmoil because it is Him working in and through us.The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. One daughter joined them as a young teen and has been an amazing blessing to the Combs family. Janet is a former special education and elementary teacher. While staying home with her kids, Janet spent decades teaching children at church, at VBS and at Good News Clubs. She also taught the teacher’s training for her local CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). Over 20 years of Precepts Bible study with Kay Arthur has been a great inspiration for her to have a passion to go deep into God’s word. Another major influence in Janet’s life has been her family’s mission work for many years in Haiti. She joined Moms in Prayer years ago and is now a member of the Moms in Prayer Board of Directors. More recently, Janet has been involved in women’s ministry teaching.SCRIPTURESBlessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 ESVFor while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 CSBTherefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Romans 5:1, 10 ESVEverything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 CSBDo nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God,did not consider equality with Godas something to be exploited.Instead he emptied himselfby assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,he humbled himself by becoming obedientto the point of death—even to death on a cross. Philippians 2:3-8 CSBTherefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 NIVLet us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Romans 14:19 NIVWe know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. 1 John 3:14 CSBLINKSMOMS IN PRAYERNew to Moms in Prayer?
