MTA Plans to Evict Some East Harlem Families for Long-Awaited Second Avenue Subway

The long-promised Second Avenue Subway extension is finally making its way into East Harlem, bringing the promise of long-overdue transit access. But for some, that progress comes at a cost. The MTA is using eminent domain to acquire at least 19 properties, mostly residential, to make way for a future station at East 116th Street.
