He completed a residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto, and then a craniofacial fellowship at New York University. After spending 23 years at the University of Washington in Seattle, he moved to Texas in Feb 2024 to take on the job of building the Plastic Surgery team at the Texas Children's Hospital in Austin. He is the former President of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery and the International Society of Craniofacial surgery. He is known worldwide as an expert in complex craniofacial surgery including craniosynostosis, midface distraction, and cleft lip and palate care.
