RARE & SCRATCHY ROCK 'N ROLL - _077 - THE COMPLETE HIT SINGLES HISTORY OF ELVIS PRESLEY AT THE MOVIES This episode spotlights the movie career of Elvis Presley. The King Of Rock & Roll also was the king of rock stars on the silver screen. He acted in 31 features and starred in two concert films between 1956 and 1972 – for a total of 33 movies – more than any rock star in history.  They generated 38 Billboard Magazine-ranked hit singles. We’ll sample them all.  These tunes include some songs that date back to the 1800’s and even earlier. Our resident Rockologist Ken Deutsch interviews David Neale, a world renown expert on songs Elvis Presley recorded – including several of his movie hit singles – that were originally performed by other people you may not know.  And we’ll also have some fascinating factoids about Elvis Presley’s “filmography.” Such as the Elvis Presley movie that first brought together two actors, who would later have long careers on one of CBS-TV’s most beloved situation comedies.
