35 years on from the fall of the Berlin Wall, German Australians reflect on its impact

The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 is being marked around the world on the 35th anniversary. For almost 30 years before its fall, the barrier symbolised the Cold War division of Europe, after the Second World War. The mass protest that led to its fall happened peacefully - but that wasn't a guaranteed outcome at the time.
