Western Australia’s Electoral Commission is trialling a low-sensory polling place for the 2025 State Election. The aim is to provide a quieter environment for voters who may benefit from it, including autistic individuals and those with intellectual and developmental or learning disabilities. The initiative in WA is not the only one in the country to help voters with a disability access polling places - but disability advocates say more needs to be done as a federal election approaches.
