Australia will re-open its embassy in Ukraine. What took so long?

At the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, in February 2022, Australia closed its embassy in Kyiv. Now, in a move welcomed by the Ukrainian government, the embassy will re-open in January. But it’s still not entirely clear why it took so long when other western nations resumed diplomatic services years ago.
