Government reveals new scheme to control international student numbers

The federal government has introduced a new measure to control the numbers of international students at Australian universities next year, after its proposed cap failed to pass through the parliament. The measure, which requests immigration staff to slow down visa process for offshore student visa applicants, has come under attack from the education sector and the Opposition.
