Death in the Channel - A price worth paying?

Twenty-seven people - 17 men, seven women, two teenage boys and a girl - lost their lives near Calais on 24 November while trying to reach the UK in a flimsy inflatable boat. They are not the first, and sadly, are unlikely to be the last migrants to die.
