Episode 290: Mysteries from the Past

Here are a few stories of unsolved mysteries from the 1940s or 50s. The Ourang Medan sent out an SOS saying the crew were all dead. Once help arrived the ship blew up and sank leaving behind nothing but questions. The story was in the newspapers, but the dates of the incident, and location of the sinking was changed several times. Even the CIA was looking into the mysterious sinking. The Awa Maru was torpedoed by the USS Queenfish. The United States Navy was told the Japanese ship was carrying Red Cross relief supplies, but the sole survivor said the cargo was a mystery. Many believe the ship was filled with gold.
