England Captain Joe Root Special on County Cricket

It’s a family thing. The Root family love cricket and their two sons play it and one of them is also the England captain. Joe Root describes the county game as “the bedrock of the game”. In an extended podcast we are joined by Joe to talk about his passion for Yorkshire and the domestic game and how he would like it to progress, and how he felt bowling to brother Billy, on the brink of a century, a few weeks ago. When they were young boys at Scarborough a game got halted when they started chasing each other, after one got the other out in the practice nets. There is always a lot riding on it. Plus the review of Round Four of the County Championship, including one run victory drama, massive run chases, massive wins, Nottinghamshire ending a 30 matches run of first class games without a win (Head coach Peter Moores, talks to us about that) and much more. There’s a lot to pack in but it’s worth it.
