Programme 87 - Best of 2018 Interviews Vol.1
The ATP Tennis Radio Podcast - En podcast af ATP Media

As the year draws to a close and the players either put their feet up somewhere warm and sunny or get back into the lung-busting job of pre-season training blocks, this week we start to look back on the story of 2018 by hearing again some of our favourite interviews from the first half of the season, from the American hard courts of the tennis mecca that is Indian Wells through to the sun-burnt clay and imperial majesty of Rome. We start in Indian Wells where Sascha Zverev was bidding to follow on from his breakthrough year in 2017. Key to building the Zverev game has been building the Zverev body and the responsibility for that job has fallen squarely on the shoulders of Jez Green. Formerly conditioning coach for Tomas Berdych and more recently Andy Murray, Green spoke with Jill Craybas at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and shared some of the secrets to his success. We then we move to Miami and another man off and running quicker than ever before in 2018 was Britain’s Kyle Edmund, a semi-finalist at the Australian Open and already making huge strides under a new head coach, Freddie Rosengren. Always ready and available to share his thoughts, Freddie spoke with Seb Lauzier in the players’ garden in Miami about Kyle’s rapid rise. Moving to Europe and on the clay courts of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters we heard from Boris Becker, before moving to Madrid and a look at tennis in Spain with a legend of that country, Emilio Sanchez. Finally to Rome where along the way there had been plenty for Italian tennis to cheer about, Fabio Fognini rising to the occasion and good wins for Marco Cecchinato and Matteo Berrettini, all of which left the country’s Davis Cup captain Corrado Berrazutti in a good mood when he spoke to us alongside the magnificent Pietrangeli court. And remember, these interviews and many more are also available on our 'Exclusives' channel on TuneIn - https://bit.ly/2CNeiz1
