This week on The Boys in the Band Podcast we're joined by David Jordan and Jim Maddock from Air Traffic. One of BBC's Sounds of 2007, Air Traffic were a band in demand and, despite being still in their teens, had record labels fighting for their signatures. They ended up on a major label with EMI - and tell us about the excessive spending they enjoyed as part of that deal. Sticking with the financials, we also learn about how band members get paid as part of a deal like that. But it wasn't all roses, with the guys discussing the impact of a vicious review in the NME on both their mental health and their trajectory. In a wide-ranging chat we also find out how the band strangely became really big in Belgium - and why they went out to buy their own personal pool cues during the recording of their album...
