024 - Jake Viramontez | Filmmaker & Chief Storyteller of SOWN

Today's Episode is with Filmmaker, Jake Viramontez. Starting his journey in Documentary filmmaking he has since grown to do big commercial projects, as well as meaningful documentaries. Jake is the founder of a Non-Profit organization called Sown Films. I was fortunate enough to have been connected with Jake through MusicBed and together we were able to establish a great relationship. After learning about his Non-Profit and what their mission was, I immediately became hooked and wanted to do what I could to help. So I traveled to Kenya, Africa to tell the story of Milele Home. Their mission is Rescuing youth living on the streets in Kenya, restoring them physically, spiritually, emotionally, holistically empowering them to become change-agents in their communities, and reconnecting them with their families. I would not have been able to experience this or be able to have created a film to tell their story without Jake and Sown Films. I am truly honored to know him and spend some time talking to him about his journey.
