The Spirit of Market Anarchy: A Critique of New Atheism's Secular Statism (Part 3.2) The "Secular Origins" Myth vs. Laissez-Faire (continued) In the conclusion to Part III, we recap the 1790 Hamilton Assumption Plan, the public bond scheme (the American Rothschild Formula), and the history of disestablishment in America over two centuries of constitutional dispute. What we will discover is that laissez-faire is the principle of liberty of conscience that secured religious freedom. In particular, religious liberty in America was always tied to an anti-tax and anti-state ideology that was more libertarian in character than it was either constitutionalist or progressive. it was not a governmental principle of secularism that freed the American people from church establishment. Herein we will cover the major supreme court cases, the changes in state constitutions, the conflicts of culture, and the institutional changes in American Christianity, which impacted the development and implementation of the First Amendment over time. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/culture-anarchy/support
