The Spirit of Market Anarchy: A Critique of New Atheism's Secular Statism Part VI: “The Axe Laid Unto the Root of Trees”: Market Anarchy as Effective Reform In Part VI, we take a look at secularism's singular failure: education. It is ironic that secularism's greatest failing should also be its chiefest strength. Atheism spreads by means of books and philosophy in the marketplace, and it generally requires a solid educational framework and a willingness to learn. So why have secularists thrown all of their stock into a failing and incredibly expensive public education system? Just privatize education, push profitable education with a focus upon core grammar, logic, history, and science, and have open discussions in the classroom. The benefit of privatized education is that one can discriminate against ideas that one does not want in the classroom; or else to allow for free and open discussions without fear of a need for "equal representation" of ideas in the classroom. If atheists and secularists were to join together and put stock in privatized secular education (outside of the tax structure), secularism would spread like wildfire and leave behind the dusty and wasteful platform of public education--which, like most State-engineered programs, was actually introduced by Christian socialists looking to reintroduce religious establishment by the backdoor. It was never true that public education was a platform that could efficiently push education and pedagogy with any kind of reliability and effectiveness compared to privatized education. But in order to do that, we must first divorce education from the State and push for a tax-free education market. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/culture-anarchy/support
