217: Ashleigh Banfield Rising Tide

In today’s episode, we have the pleasure of interviewing award-winning veteran journalist Ashleigh Banfield, host of “Banfield.” She has launched “Rising Tide: The Value in Mentoring Others,” a free monthly symposium featuring interviews with VIP leaders in the industry to share their advice to broadcast journalists of all ages and demographics. Her goal is for “Rising Tide” to be an opportunity for the next generation of professionals to improve their craft through mentorship and networking with those who have risen to the top. In this interview, we will consider the impact that agenda has on the media and Ashleigh’s hopes to bring fairness back to news reporting. She shares the beauty in seeing the vulnerable side of tv anchors, how showing authentic emotions builds relationships with viewers, an outlook we can apply to our everyday lives. We also discuss how important it is that we show patience with ourselves just as much as with others.
