His research focuses on the USSR’s engagement with Africa, Asia, and Latin America during the Cold War. He’s the author of Arrested Development: The Soviet Union in Ghana, Guinea, and Mali, 1955–1968 published by Cornell University Press. Natalia Telepneva is a lecturer in International History at the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on the Soviet Union’s engagement with African anticolonial movements during the Cold War and the history of socialism, especially in Africa. She’s the author of Cold War Liberation: The Soviet Union and the Collapse of Portuguese Empire in Africa, 1961-1975 published by the University of North Carolina Press.
