Episode 286: Greg Hunter

On August 27, 1990, a 19-year-old man is shot and his body concealed inside a commercial freezer at his workplace in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The killer steals cash from the register and flees the scene. The investigation drags on, much to the frustration and distress of not only the victim's family and friends, but the local community which is shaken in the aftermath of the seemingly random and brutal killing. But soon, the much-needed breakthrough comes thanks to the killer’s conscience, who reveals to law enforcement it was a catastrophic case of robbery gone wrong. In episode 286, Jac and Alexis detail the tragic case of Greg Hunter, his death at the hands of Richard James Yarger, and how, when someone is intent on selfish and desperate action, sometimes a dreadful collision of malevolence and circumstances result in the senseless loss of innocent and promising young life.
