The Freedom Podcast - En podcast af The Freedom Podcast - Fredage

Welcome back! On today's show, Alexis and Katie dive into the identity crisis we are facing in the world. They discuss if or when we place our self-identity in anything outside of Christ we are guaranteed to be unfulfilled and searching for ourselves. We hope you enjoy the show!  Show Notes:  We are human beings - not human doings, created in God’s image Our tendency is to place our worth on what we “do” or accomplish success & money People pleasing Likes, popularity Pressures from culture - give a personal example of where we tend to place our identity Anything other than Christ is shaky ground We see the most “successful” individuals painfully insecure if their identity is in temporary, fleshly things Where does God say our identity is rooted? Being a child of God Psalm 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Washington-post, “a person’s name is the greatest connection to their own identity and individuality”. A. We must see ourselves how the Lord sees us. — Galatians 2:20 “I've been crucified in Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me…” B. We are saved by grace, meaning we are holy, saints, and blemish free. Because of that, we should live like it. — 1 John 1:9 “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. C. Are we sinners, saints, or both? — We are born into the world sinners. — When we are saved we no longer identify as a sinner, but as holy, blemish-free individuals in God’s eyes. — We must remember who we are in Christ. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefreedompodcast/support
