Letting Go in Business with Rani Puranik pt. 2

In part 2 of the discussion, business executive and philanthropist Rani Puranik shares her greatest lesson in life and business—having the courage to let go. Early in her career working for her family business, Rani spent countless hours building leadership teams and focusing on specific projects that mattered to her and the company. When her dad admired her work and then encouraged her to let go of her accounts, she wept. Fears crept in about how others might lose respect for her or allow the projects she’d started to fall to the wayside. Once she recognized the wisdom in such an approach, she was able to transition seamlessly with honor and empathy. Throughout her time as a team leader and global CFO, Rani has learned countless valuable lessons about working with people who simply want to feel seen and heard. She is deeply invested in giving back to the community, as evidenced by her involvement with the Puranik Foundation and founding a charter school for at-risk children. From her perspective, success is only worth it if it is shared with others. In her book 7 Letters to My Daughters, Rani imparts her observations and insights on the human experience. She tells her life story broken down into seven-year segments and hopes that her struggles and triumphs speak directly to her readers. By living a life centered around helping others succeed, Rani continues to build an empire that offers support in numerous ways around the globe.  Main TopicsThe freedom of letting go (02:17)Rani empowers herself by letting go of her accounts (05:07)The fears around letting go of what we’ve created (06:54)Using an empathetic approach to stimulate progression (08:47)In’s and out’s of working closely with family (10:18)Rani’s book 7 Letters to My Daughters (14:49)The point of success is to give back to the community (18:00)  Episode Linkshttps://ranipuranik.com Go to TheFridayHabit.com to find show notes for this episode.
