My name is Kimberly Olson, your hostess, and today I have special guest, one of my Goal Digger students, Carla MacQuarrie. How are you girlfriend? Carla MacQuarrie: I am awesome. How are you? Kimberly Olson: Good. I'm so excited to have you on, and I'm so thankful that we've connected that very first call that we did together on your private coaching session. I was just like, "Oh my gosh. You're just operating at a really high level and crushing in multiple areas". And just so, so smart and have so much knowledge. So I'm excited to share you with my audience. So since a lot of them may be new to you and haven't heard, because we have listeners from all over the world, can you tell everyone a little bit about yourself, your background, what you do and what got you into entrepreneurship? Carla MacQuarrie: Okay, awesome. I'd love that. So I think I always loved these stories when I connect with people that are entrepreneurs now. I think they usually had something right back from childhood. So like my very first paper route. And I find so many entrepreneurs now, they actually had a paper route at one point in their life. So I love that. But interestingly, I was brought up in the kind of public sector world. So my dad was in the military and my mom was in the public sector. So just going into entrepreneurship was a real deviation from what my family trajectory always looked like. So I always kind of resisted it, even though I really felt like it was something that I wanted to do. So basically when I got started with the company that I'm with, now, it wasn't jumping into it for the business. I truly fell in love with the product. And then I had this opportunity when I realized, "okay, I was telling everybody and their dog about this product. Jeepers, I could actually turn this into an income opportunity". And I think that when people can really connect at the level where they fall in love with something and they really feel like they're sharing it as opposed to selling it, then they are able to inspire other people to do the same thing. And that's really where I've been able to turn it up from just sharing the product, to sharing the opportunity. Kimberly Olson: That's awesome. I love it. I think that it's so funny that when people accidentally fall into entrepreneurship, it's always the best stories, you know, like someone's like, "I really wish there was this thing. So I made this widget and it just like goes crazy". And that's kind of what happened with you, you love the product so much and you were just sharing naturally. And I think that's so cool. So how long have you been doing what you do? Carla MacQuarrie: I've been with my company for six years now, and this is my only company. It's truly my first exposure to any of this. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegoaldiggergirl/support
