In part two of Dr. Bob's episode with Josh Jacobs, founder and CEO of TGA Premier Sports, they continue their conversation about the importance of youth sports. Dr. Bob and Josh also discuss in depth about why it is vital for children to play outside and bringing affluent based sports to under served areas. Enjoy part two of this wonderful discussion! Joshua Jacobs founded TGA Premier Sports in 2003 at 12 Los Angeles area elementary schools creating the first after-school golf enrichment curriculum. In 2007, national demand grew for TGA’s solution to making golf more affordable and available and TGA launched the first ever golf franchise company that specialized in introductory and recreational programs. In 2012, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) recognized TGA’s success with golf and partnered with TGA to orchestrate their move into multiple sports. At the same time, TGA franchised tennis as its second concept. In 2017, TGA added six other sports to its offerings (Cheerleading, Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Lacrosse, Ultimate, and Volleyball). Today, TGA has become the go-to brand for introductory sports and the nation’s most prolific provider of in-school- and community-based youth sports enrichment programs at 3,400 locations nationwide. Joshua was named by GOLF Magazine as one of the Top 40 most influential people in golf under 40 and was recognized as one of golf’s “Innovators” by Golf Inc. He's served on PGA of America National Committees, the Southern California PGA’s Foundation Advisory Board and the Player Development Board, the World Golf Foundation Advisory Board and the USTA’s National Schools Committee. Joshua Graduated from Emory University with a degree in Economics and Business and a minor in history where he played varsity golf and club tennis. He is also an associate member of the PGA of America. TGA franchises can be found nationwide as well as internationally in Canada. Its continued growth has impacted over 915,000 youth and will reach its one-millionth student in 2021. TGA makes sports available to 1.75 million families through its education-based programs and the TGA Sports Foundation, which provides access for all children and promotes the physical, educational, social, and character-building elements of these sports.
