#28 - Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow, PhD: What Do Sexuality, Divinity, and Soil Have in Common?

Born Free Method: The Podcast - En podcast af Nathan Riley - Onsdage

Erin is an author, a guide, and an artist. She is a certified yoga teacher, craniosacral therapist, and entrepreneur. She holds a PhD in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California. She studied Political and Social Thought at the University of Virginia, served as the Director of Housing Policy with the Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger and Homelessness, and the Regional Coordinator for several progressive signature-gathering campaigns in California. Immediately after she graduated with her PhD in 2013, her world split open. She got displaced from two homes in a row in the gentrification rush in Venice, California. She started volunteering with a group that she helped co-create into what is now the non-profit Kiss the Ground, and learned about the relationship between soil health and climate change. She then took several jobs that immediately fell through, and by 2014, she decided to put all of her stuff in storage and go to Bali for yoga teacher training for some self-care. GROUNDED was born on the plane on the way from LA to Bali. Her time in Bali launched my journey into healing, self-discovery, and spirit. Since then, she has continually deepened her studies and practice in the worlds of inner work and the metaphysical. Our relationships to spirit, matter, cycles, love, and storytelling, are the keys to untangling ourselves from patriarchal ways of thinking and birthing the new world. And she never ceases to be humbled by the divine timing and unfolding of her path and GROUNDED’s manifestation in this time and place. [00:17:20] - How do you feel at this time of the year?
